Tim asks: Ray Bradbury’s Zen and the Art of Writing is an interesting collection to me, though I’ve not read much of his fiction. What do you think about taking advice from authors whose fiction you haven’t engaged with?
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott|
On Writing by Stephen King
The Illustrated Man, by Ray Bradbury
S is for Space, by Ray Bradbury
The Halloween Tree, by Ray Bradbury
Something Wicked This Way Comes, by Ray Bradbury

  1. Anne Lamont is incredibly bigotted against fat people and has more than a few dangerous ideas about food and eating. They permeate the “bird” book. Any mention of it should include a warning for anyone who is a fat person (with any self respect, anyway) and anyone who’s in recovery from an eating disorder. The whole book is just saturated with deeply destructive, disordered thinking.
