I’d also like to add Survivors. I’ve only seen the 2008 version, but there was one in the 70s and I believe it was based on a novel called Nation. One of the things I find interesting about this genre and something I want to learn from it is how to handle grief which would logically go with catastrophic events without entirely drowning a story with it.
