  1. Actually, autistic people tend to have high affective empathy and low cognitive empathy/sympathy. We mirror the emotions of other people a lot but have trouble consciously recognizing them, and tend to have alexithymia as well.

    Your claim that women tend to have higher affective empathy started to make me think that might be why autism tends to be underdiagnosed in women.
